Every day
We will visit the most interesting and incredible places that will enchant you with their beauty - Salda Lake and Pamukkale from Kemer.
Lake Salda from Kemer is the real business card of the country, which appeared as a result of natural disasters and time. Our first stop will be Pamukkale.
Pamukkale, aka Cotton Castle the pride of Turkey, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. There is a beautiful legend about the Atlanteans who forgot to pick cotton and, petrified, he created a snow-white mountain. In fact, we admire the creation of nature, which arose as a result of an earthquake, a break in the earth's crust and the emergence of hot mineral springs on the surface. Calcium and magnesium salts, which are so rich in underground water, settle on the surface, cover with a snow-white color and create fancy terraces and balconies.
The healing properties of the springs have been known since ancient times. In the 2nd century BC, in the immediate vicinity of the source, the city of Hierapolis was built a kind of hydropathic establishment of the Roman Empire. During the tour, Lake Salda and Pamukkale from Kemer, we will visit the ruins of the ancient city, admire the antique columns, arches, aqueduct, walls of the fortress. There was also found a chapel and tomb of St. Philip, one of the 12 apostles. In the 1st century AD, he arrived in these lands with a mission to spread Christianity, but was misunderstood and brutally executed by the pagans.
The antique theater will take a little more of your time. The second largest after Aspendos is just as well preserved and conveys all the atmospheric spirit and grandeur of that time.
After walking around the white travertine terraces and the old town, everyone can plunge into the Cleopatra Pool, which is located at the foot of the mountain and is hidden by lush vegetation. Warm mineral water and millions of bubbles will envelop your body. Of course, you won't be able to improve your health in one visit, but you will be guaranteed a pleasant feeling of lightness and relaxation.
If you have already been on this excursion, then it is recommended to visit Suluada Island from Kemer which is also an unusual destination for luxury lovers.
The Turkish Maldives will be the second stop of the Salda Lake and Pamukkale excursion from Kemer. Snow-white soft sand and azure water of Lake Salda do not leave anyone indifferent. This is the second deepest body of fresh water in the country and is also cold. Even in summer, the water temperature does not rise above +20. The lake is valued not only for its views but also for its medicinal hydrogen sulphide mud. Despite the specific smell, it has a healing effect on the skin and the musculoskeletal system. This natural lake was born thanks to another cataclysm of a volcanic eruption. It is located at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. Around the entire Salda Lake, there is a protected area guarded by the Turkish authorities.
Of course, the Salda Lake and Pamukkale tour from Kemer is not only a walk through beautiful places but also a very informative and interesting historical and geological journey. It will be interesting for both adults and children.
